What's usually going on

A computer chair that sinks mid-task or refuses to roll is usually a gas lift or castor problem, not a reason to replace the chair. We test the lift under load, swap worn castors, and check the seat plate before we call the job done.

Common fixes

  • Sinking seat height
  • Stuck or noisy castors
  • Seat plate realignment
  • Tilt lock repair
